This video is about the process of getting an adult neurodiversity diagnosis and why it can be a valuable step for many individuals. Remember neurodiversity simply means that our brains function in a wide range of ways, just like we have diverse physical appearances. Conditions like autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and dyspraxia are all part of this.
The diagnosis process begins with an initial consultation. This involves discussing your experiences and symptoms with a mental health professional. It's a chance to share your challenges and gain insights into potential neurodiverse conditions. You'll likely complete three questionnaires. Two are self-reports, providing personal insights, while the third is filled out by family or friends. This helps offer a comprehensive view of your experiences and behaviours.
